CCD Barcode Scanners

A CCD (Charge Coupled Device) scanner uses imaging technology to take a digital picture of the barcode. A CCD scan engine works well to accurately read barcodes at close range on flat surfaces. Unlike laser barcode scanners, CCD scanners contain LED light and don't have moving parts that will wear out over time.

While CCD scanners have a longer lifespan than laser scanners, they cannot scan barcodes longer than 3.25 inches wide.
